Pets from Ukraine

People arriving in Denmark from Ukriane with pets are asked to fill in a form and send it to the Danish Veterinary and Food Administration as soon as possible.

Pets from Ukraine

After FVST has seen your pet, your dog and cat can have an appointment at Dyreklinikken Bjerringbro.

Please follow instructions on this site.

After filling the form, you must keep your pet isolated until further notice from the Danish Veterinary and Food Administration (Fødevarestyrelsen).

If you find the instructions difficult, please contact us – we can help you!

After the Danish Veterinary and Food Administration has seen your pet and filled out the proper papers, we at Dyreklinikken Bjerringbro can help you with health check, rabies-vaccination and microchip.

Please contact us by email or telephone to make an appointment.

If your animal gets sick after arriving in Denmark, please contact us immediately.

Isolation

It is very important that you keep your pet isolated until the Danish Veterinary and Food Administration has ensured that it meets the import requirements.

This means no contact with other animals and humans.

Dogs must only be aired on a short leash, and birds, cats and ferrets must be kept indoors.

This is because rabies is present in Ukraine and dogs, cats and ferrets can be carriers of the rabies virus.

In danish

Fødevarestyrelsen har også skrevet en dansk version til dig som hjælper ukrainere og deres kæledyr.

Denne kan du læse her.
